Just getting started with puzzles? Then you want your dog to find something the very first time. Zhu has four sliders in a row, with a treat under each one. When he pushes one aside with his nose, tongue or paw, he's found it.

Because it's the same move four times, your dog quickly gets how it works. That builds confidence for the harder pieces later on. Zhu takes four spots on the base board: a whole row.

Zhu is level 1 and is also part of the Beginner Set. The piece is 24 x 6 x 4.5 cm, made of 100% polypropylene in Europe and can go in the top rack of the dishwasher.

Please note: no base board included. Zhu works on the Pawzler base board or the board from a Pawzler set.

How to play

  1. Add four treats

    Put a treat or a few pieces of kibble under each slider.

  2. Leave one open

    Leave one slider open the first time, so he sees what it's about.

  3. Close them all

    Once that goes well, slide everything shut and let him do it himself.

Playing and safety

Always supervise play, especially with a puppy. Pawzler is not a chew toy: if you see your dog gnawing at the sliders, guide him back to searching or put the piece away for a while. Take the puzzle away once all the treats have been found. Check Zhu regularly and replace it if anything is damaged.

Yes. Zhu goes on the Pawzler base board or the board from a Pawzler set. No board is included in this pack.
Is Zhu suitable for a puppy?
Yes. Zhu is level 1: one sliding move per compartment. A good first piece for puppies and dogs that have never done a puzzle. Do stay close, though.
Is Zhu part of a set?
Yes, the Beginner Set, together with Onix, Oli and the Terra lick mat. Buy Zhu on its own to add to your own layout.
What's the next step after Zhu?
Kaya (level 2) also works with a slider, but there the treats drop through into a compartment on the other side. After that you can move on to Louvre (level 3), with sliders in several directions.
