A towel dries a dog on the surface and then he shakes himself over your wall. Two hours later the undercoat is still damp and he smells of wet dog.
A bathrobe works differently: you put it on and let it do the work. The microfibre pulls moisture out of the coat while your dog walks around or lies down. High collar that opens at the front.
We use these at the daycare after a wet walk. The difference from towelling isn't subtle — the dogs lie down dry and warm instead of clammy in the bed.
