One side is faux suede, the other soft plush. In winter your dog settles on the plush, in summer on the smoother suede. He chooses, which is less odd than it sounds — dogs move around all night looking for the right temperature.
The hollow fibre core insulates from the floor, which on tiles or laminate is the difference between lying down and wanting to lie down.
We have several at the daycare. They go through the washing machine, and at our scale that's the only thing that matters.
