Sound familiar?

  • Your dog doesn't do well on animal proteins
  • You no longer buy meat yourself and want an alternative for your dog
  • Your older dog moves less and could eat a little lighter

Not every dog does well on animal proteins, and not every owner still wants to buy meat. For both, Imby makes this plant-based kibble: no meat or fish, and still a complete meal for adult dogs.

The 24% protein comes from peas, sweet potato, pumpkin, naked oats and rice. Imby adds vitamin D3 from sheep's wool to make the recipe complete, which is why Imby calls it 99.9% vegan. The bag holds a mix of two kibble types, one of which is baked in the oven at a low temperature with olive oil, oregano and thyme.

With 12% fat and 3,525 kcal per kilo, it is lighter than the Mini, Medium and Maxi insect foods. According to Imby, that also makes it a good fit for older dogs and dogs carrying a little extra weight. You choose between 1.5 kg and 5 kg. Imby is a Belgian brand that makes its food in Belgium.

What's not in it

Why we sell this

  • Owners sometimes ask us whether a dog can live without meat. Imby says yes, as long as the food is complete. This recipe takes its protein from plants and adds vitamin D3 from sheep's wool. If your dog has a medical condition, check with your vet first.

Feeding tips

Always provide fresh drinking water. Switch over seven days and keep an eye on the stools that week. Weigh your dog now and then during the first weeks: with a plant-based recipe the portion may work out differently from what you're used to. Check with your vet if your dog has a medical condition or takes medication.
