Does your dog feel like tugging or running today? With the Chuckit! Rope Fetch you don't need to know in advance. It's a ball with a rope attached, and there are three ways to play: throw, tug and kick.

Unwrap the rope and you have a tug toy with a handle for you. With the same rope you swing the ball a good distance. Wrap the rope into the grooves round the ball and it's out of the way, so you can kick it across the field.

The ball is 13 cm across. The outside is tough polyester Oxford fabric, the core is EVA foam. That keeps it floating high on the water, handy by the pond or on the beach.

How to play

  1. Choose the game

    Rope loose for throwing and tugging, rope wrapped round the ball for kicking.

  2. Throw by the rope

    Swing the ball round a few times and let go of the rope as it moves forward.

  3. Mix it up

    A few throws, a short tug, then throw again. Finish with “drop it”.

Why we sell this

  • At the daycare you see two kinds of players: dogs that run and dogs that tug. Most do both, depending on their mood. This toy does both, and by the rope you can throw it further than an ordinary ball.

Playing and safety

Always supervise play. Rope Fetch is not a chew toy: don't leave your dog alone with it, especially not with the rope. Tug horizontally and without jerking, never upwards. Don't throw towards people or other dogs. Replace it if the fabric tears or the rope starts to fray.

How do I turn it into a kick ball?
Wrap the rope round the ball, into the special grooves. It's then out of the way and you can kick the ball across the grass.
Can it go in the water?
Yes. The EVA foam core keeps it floating high on the water. By the rope you can throw it a long way and fish it out again easily.
Does it fit a ball launcher?
No, at 13 cm it's too big. You throw it by the rope: swing it a few times and let go.
Which dogs is it suitable for?
Chuckit! says it suits small to large breeds. In a game of tug, you decide how hard to pull. Keep it gentle with young dogs.
