You throw, and your dog is already standing where the ball will land. For clever retrievers, an ordinary ball quickly becomes predictable. The Chuckit! Erratic isn't: thanks to its angular shape it bounces off in a different direction every time.

That means your dog has to keep watching, reacting and adjusting. A short fetch session becomes a lot more challenging, without you having to throw any further. The green rubber is tough, non-toxic, gentle on the mouth and easy to clean.

How to play

  1. Start short

    Throw low and close at first, so your dog gets used to the odd bounce.

  2. Throw on grass

    A flat lawn gives the best bounces and a soft landing.

  3. Keep it playful

    A few rounds is enough. Stop while your dog is still keen.

Playing and safety

Always supervise play, on a flat, soft field without obstacles: the unpredictable bounce makes your dog turn suddenly. Keep sessions short. Choose a size that doesn't fit entirely in your dog's mouth. It's a fetch ball, not a chew toy. Replace the ball as soon as it shows cracks or loose pieces.

Why does it bounce so unpredictably?
Because of its angular shape with flattened sides. It doesn't roll in a straight line and jumps off in a different direction after every bounce.
Which size should I choose?
Chuckit! recommends S up to about 9 kg, M from 9 to 27 kg and L from 27 to 45 kg. The ball must never fit entirely in your dog's mouth. S and M come as a 2-pack, L as a single ball.
Does it fit the ball launcher?
Yes. Chuckit! sizes the Erratic to fit its launchers: S in the Sport 35 cm, M in the Sport 30, 45 and 63 cm, L in the Sport 66 cm.
Is it suitable for every dog?
For dogs that already love to fetch, yes. The unpredictable bounce makes your dog turn and jump suddenly. For a young dog or a dog with joint problems, a ball that rolls predictably, like the Ultra Ball, is a better choice.
