Not every dog is thrilled by chasing a ball ten times in a row. Some would rather sniff. The Chuckit! Sniff Fetch with a peanut butter scent gives that nose something to do, so fetch turns into a search game as well.

The scent is infused into the rubber. Hide the ball behind a tree or in long grass and let your dog track it down. Then just throw it: the tough natural rubber with an extra-thick core bounces high and floats.

The green ball is size M (Ø 6.4 cm) and fits all Chuckit! M launchers of 30, 45 and 63 cm. There's also a blue one that smells of bacon, and a duo set with one of each.

How to play

  1. Start in plain sight

    Let your dog sniff the ball and put it down a few metres away.

  2. Make it harder

    Hide the ball behind a tree or in longer grass and say “find it”.

  3. Throw as a reward

    Found it and brought it back? Then comes a throw. Searching and running take turns.

Why we sell this

  • Not every dog is a runner. At the daycare we see plenty of dogs who would rather sniff and only join in when their nose has something to do. With a ball that smells of peanut butter, fetch becomes a search game too.

Playing and safety

Always supervise play. Choose a ball that doesn't fit entirely in your dog's mouth. The scent makes the ball extra tempting to chew, so put it away after play and don't leave your dog alone with it. Replace the ball as soon as it shows cracks, cuts or loose pieces.

Questions

Can I play a search game with it?
Yes. Put the ball in plain sight first, then behind a tree or in longer grass, and let your dog find it. Reward him when he finds it and brings it to you. Then just throw it again.
Is it a treat?
No. The peanut butter scent is in the rubber, but it's still a ball: not for eating or chewing.
Peanut butter or bacon?
That's mostly down to taste. The peanut butter ball is green, the bacon ball blue. Can't choose? Get the duo set with one of each.
Which dogs is size M for?
Chuckit! recommends size M for dogs of about 9 to 27 kg. The ball must never fit entirely in your dog's mouth. If in doubt, choose a bigger ball.
